Lieutenant George Nicholson |
Appointed 1961 serving over 37 years. Advanced through the ranks to Lieutenant. Worked the streets of Utica making a difference in Law Enforcement everyday. A leader easy to follow and an example of pride in the profession. His time to lead never more evident than when he was elected to serve as President of the Police Benevolent Association. It wasn't possible for the organization to advance negotiations with the city for years. He opened up new avenues that provided pay and benefits to the members. His innovative style of professionalism was second to none. His motto was always giving 100% for those under him. Congratulations and salutations Lieutenant. He died May 17, 2010
